Renewing Tenancy Agreement Without Agent

The Foxton case below raises the question of whether landlords can recover rental fees they had already paid to their landlord. In many cases, the owners had no idea what they were paying for or that these fees were totally avoidable. Our agent just sent us an email 3 months before the end of the lease to tell us that it would be 90 dollars to renew us! Our LL has done everything since we moved in, but the L.A. told us we had to pay them money to send new contracts. It`s revolting! I was determined not to have an agent, even though the agent used by the sellers of my first house tried very hard – including, as I discovered later, did not exert a little pressure on the tenant to convince me (seriously!) – to make me continue. I quickly realized why he was so sexy. It turned out that not only had he paid the owner`s agency`s costs in Dudenniert, but he had asked tenant SEVENTY POUNDS TWICE A YEAR to “renew” a standard short-term rental contract – and to offend the injury, he even left it (she`s not going) in his office to pay! Therefore, if the agent has confidence, established, regulated, etc., he has an interest in renting your property to a new tenant, so he may, although he is not willing to grant you financial compensation if you receive a bad tenant, advice or help to sue the outgoing tenant for his debts. The government had previously jumped into the breach and tried to ensure that owners were not misled and that they were fully aware of the fees incurred when signing their agency contracts. In 2008, it introduced consumer protection regulations against unfair trafficking (2008).

This has replaced many other laws. It should “introduce a general obligation not to act unfairly and to ensure that traders act honestly and fairly towards their customers.” You cannot charge a tenant for services related to the termination or termination of a tenancy agreement (unless this relates to the early termination required by the tenant). However, if the lease was entered into before June 1, 2019 and a tenant has agreed in his contract to pay an exit fee such as check-out or storage fees, you can charge them until May 31, 2020. As of June 1, 2020, the payment period no longer binds the tenant. If your contract is a guaranteed short-term lease (AST) and you wish to remain in the property after the fixed term, a new written agreement (or “renewal”) is not necessarily necessary.
